Hydration belt

I finally went out and bought a hydration belt. This is the one I got. I did 8 miles today, but didn't try it out for 2 reasons:
1. It was only in the 50s (absolutely perfect weather for running)
2. I am not quite sure how to wear it.

When my husband came home and saw it, our conversation went somewhat like this:

Me: Hey, I got my hydration belt today (holding it up)
Hubby: (laughing) Do you plan on wearing that?
Me: Well duh, yeah. I am not sure exactly how to wear it...I don't want to look like a dork.
(At this point, I know what is coming...)
Hubby: I don't really think it matters, you will look a dork any way you wear it.

He is just too funny. (Not!) He is actually a biker and wears a Camelback, so I don't know why he finds my belt so darn funny.

So...how do I wear this thing? I know it has to be around my waist. :) Does the fanny pack part go around back? That is how I am thinking it should be worn...am I right?

Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend. Friday night we took the kiddies to our local minor league baseball game and they LOVED it. It was Bubby's first time...pics to come. :)

I love your hydration belt... I want one, but I just carry my water as i do short runs still...
I don't know how you wear it tho...
also i tried a camelback and didn't like the taste of the water or the faffing about or the looks like pretty urgent need to clean it... plus the hydration belt looks like a brilliant answer to a lot of problems...
I also have a 6 water bottle holder which came with my weights that i bought... comes as a bulky waist belt, 3 on the back 3 on the front... I think i will need to be doing pretty long runs before i need it!!

I don't think there is one right way to wear the belt. I twist mine so the pack part is near my right hip, then I don't have to mess around too much to get into it. Great job getting the 8 miles in!

Congrats on the new purchase!

I usually wear my bottles on the back so it doesn't mess with my arm swing. I think you just have to keep running with it & trying it out until you find what works for you.

Your belt looks cool. I have a belt that I don't wear, because I can't imagine lugging that weight around.

Thanks for the comment, Sarah. I will let Dan know.

The running seems to be coming along for you just fine, I feel like you don't even break a sweat. You are so amazing. How is the belt coming along, figure it out?

I'm surprised. I figured you would get a real "girly" hydration belt - you know, a pink one with diasies on it or something. ;-)

I was thinking about getting a belt. Let me know how you like it and whether it is comfortable.

Most important: - 8 miles, eh? Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all!!

Do you have your eye on any specific race?

I just bought the exact same belt on Friday, LOL. I love it! I put the velcro in the front, but don't know if there is a right or wrong way to wear it. I'm so silly that I didn't even think to look at the size and ended up with a large, but it is okay because I like wearing it down on my hips so it covers my mommy tummy and is below my elbows. It is so darn hot here already that I used it yesterday and loved how easy it was to get the bottles in and out! Way easier than suffing a bottle in my fanny pack!

I would try it just like it is in the photo with the bottles on each side but there is no right or wrong way. I have noticed on mine (it's not like yours exactly) that you have to get it really tight so it doens't bounce up and down and rub on you.
