A New Workout

I have been trying to come up with some more cross-training ideas to incorporate into my workouts. One night an infomercial came on for this ...what do you think?

I thought it looked rather interesting. Just look at the results! Could I really be a "flirty girl"?

I showed my husband the website and he laughed....a LOT. The workout appears to be a sort of stripper boot camp...definitely not my thing. For those who have not met me in person, I have been described as "a good girl", "the girl next door", "all-American girl", etc....definitely not "flirty girl" material. And besides, how does one explain the presence of a stripper pole in the bedroom to their kids?

The other night I was running on the treadmill in the basement and thinking a bit more about it. In the basement there are support poles that run from the floor to the ceiling. When I noticed them there, I almost hopped off the treadmill and tried them out. Can you imagine what my husband would have said if he walked down the stairs to find me swinging around the basement support pole??

So...I think that I will have to keep searching for workout ideas.

I still laugh when I think about it. Has anyone out there seen that episode of "King of Queens"? It is my fav!

Tell the kids that the stripper pole is actually a fireman's pole in case of fire they can slide down from the roof.

If I ever tried something like that, I don't know if my husband would be ecstatic or if he would just laugh himself to death. I am definitely not a flirty girl. I'm more of a nerdy girl. Although I did try a pole dance on a golf cart last summer . . .

LOL. Your post makes me think of the Chris Rock special where he says his main job as a father is to keep his baby girl "off the pole".

That episode of King of Queens is my all time favorite. Hubby and I were literally crying we were both laughing so hard. Tell the kids the pole is to help Santa get in the house next year for Christmas!

My hubby actually said something to me about that workout the other day! I laughed REALLY hard....can you even imagine? What if my boys saw me doing it??? OMG!!

I see that you are a runner...I would love to read more about your training! I run also...although I do it outdoors, so the last few cold days have been tough. I have been doing a Tae-BO tape to fill in and also for cross training purposes! It kicks my butt!!
