New Read

I got my package from Amazon yesterday and these 2 books were in it....yeah for new running books! Has anyone read either?? I am trying to decide which to read first.

On the injury front, my back continues to improve every day. On Monday I tried to run very slowly on the treadmill and there was no way. The minute I started, I began to have pain. Instead I walked 30 minutes and even struggled with that. I have a disc problem with nerve root involvement, and the walking caused symptoms down my right leg.
I took off for 2 days and then walked tonight. I had no trouble walking and was able to do a full 30 minutes pain-free. I ran very slowly for the last two minutes and things felt o.k. At least I am making progress! Hopefully I will be back to full running in no time!

I'm reading the Chi Running book. It's sort of a slow read... interesting and hopefully helpful but not the type of book you read straight through (at least not for me). I can't wait to hear what you think!

I have the Chi Running book on hold at the library, so interested to see what you think of it.

Hope you are able to get back to running soon!

I want to read both of those books. But I can barely make it through a magazine at this point! Hope you get back to running soon!

I read the Chi running book a few years back when I was just starting out. IT helped me not over-stride and made me way faster at the time. I heart new running books; even Pfitzinger is scintillating in the right mood. Enjoy!

I read Yasso's book last year and his life is such an adventure it's a fun read. I've read piece-meal the Chi Running book whenever I'm visiting the bookstore and lounging at the in-house Starbucks...somewhat helpful book, but not a fun read.

Those are both great. I think Chi Running will help your back. One other book I recommend is "Fix Your Own Pain Without Drugs or Surgery" It stuff to do all day every day, not just exercises. I took a copy to my parents and it has helped them a lot too!
