What's in a name?

First of all, THANK YOU to everyone who left comments on my last post...reading your comments just make my day! It is good to know that I am not alone in my waving. :)

On my garage sale post, Winnston had noticed my table clothes. This is our 4th year doing the garage sale and I have learned some tricks to increase profits. I think that the tableclothes just class it up a bit...nothing says classy quite like plastic tablecloths zip-tied to the legs of the table. We made more this year than ever before. :)

Today I did 9.5 miles in 80-degree heat. I am not a fan of running in the heat. Last weekend it was in the 50s for my long run...I much prefer it that way. I used my hydration belt for the first time and LOVED it.

As I was running I kept thinking about what today's post would be about. It seemed to change with each mile of the run. Today's run was TOUGH for me...mentally. I just kept telling myself that it didn't matter how long it took or how many walk breaks I took (I usually don't take any)...I just needed to log the miles. That thinking got me through. It was not a pretty run...but I did it.

Here are some of the different blog titles that I thought of today...in chronological order as far as at what point in my run I thought of them....

1. I totally heart running.
2. I heart my hydration belt.
3. Baby, it's hot outside!
4. Red Gatorade rules!
5. Guys with nice abs rock!
6. Cocky attitudes cancel out nice abs
7. Jillian Michaels kicked my a$$ 2 days ago and it still hurts
8. Running sucks
9. Tight hydration belts may induce vomitting (No...I didn't...but I came close. Once I loosened my belt it was all good)
10. Running sucks
11. "Pain in temporary. It may a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever."- Lance Armstrong

I think I'll stick with the last one. I wouldn't risk an injury, but I knew that if I stopped early because I was tired that I would regret it all weekend

My day in order:
Got up and dressed
Ate breakfast
Checked blogs and emails
Talked on phone to daughter
Tried to call mom
Went to grocery store
Made lunch
Took down crib and worked up a sweat
Came downstairs to cool off
LOL when I wrote this after reading YOUR post.

Have a great Memorial weekend.

First of all, I'm a waver/hello-er also (I just read that blog). It bugs me when I get ignored or looked at like I'm going to say hello and then attack them with my hydration belt.

Secondly, I love all the blog titles you cam up with! Very funny! And I agree, big egos (cockiness) totally cancel out nice-looking anything!

Great job hanging in there and doing your full run, in spite of the heat. :D

I'm glad the hydration belt is working for you-how did you finally decide to wear it? I was just looking at belts yesterday, but I can't decide what kind to get..

Great job on the run! You are really getting to where you need to be. Running in the heat is a challenge, but if you are up at the 9.5 mile mark, you are dealing with it well! I guess your race is in the fall, so you have plenty of time to get comfortable with the distance. Great work!

I guess the hydration belt is a good buy and really is gong to come in handy. The only problem I see is that part of your running outfit needs to pick up the yellow highlights on the belt and bottles. So this could limit your choices. ;-) I think Nike actually makes a gray running shirt that has bright yellow highlights. That would go perfectly. - Unless you think it's too "matchy-matchy". ;-)

As for all of those cocky guys with the 6 pack abs, I like to think that I have them beat

-I've got a keg.

When do you think you will break the magical 10 mile barrier?

Ha! Isn't it funny how things can change within seconds on a run?

Hi I waved today!!! yay !!! i felt like i was high fiving everyone i went past... (only hello's and nodds before) ...
I think there is one thing worse than not being waved back to BEING TOLD YOU ARE NOT RUNNING FAST ENOUGH!!
I have had that twice, but the second time i had earphones in and managed to say - yes lovely day isn't it - (at first i genuinely misheard him) LOL
